| Meeting Critical Needs with Specialized Solutions Food supplements and replacements, herbs, drugs and medical and diagnostic devices must be evaluated for safety and efficacy, and must also pass the strict requirements of governmental regulations. How drugs and chemicals interact with each other, with the environment, and with humans and animals must be known before a product is put on the market. The workplace, the home and other environments must be evaluated for safety. When problems arise, expert testimony is needed to shed light on what went wrong and where the fault lies. To meet these needs, SARA performs a diversity of services that includes: • Designing a plan that will enable a company to analyze a health or nutritional product’s safety and efficacy • Carrying out that plan in the most efficient, cost-effective way • Assessing dangers involving environmental and workplace exposure to conditions or substances • Providing expert testimony involving toxicity issues • Designing a testing process to ensure that a product or process meets regulatory requirements, and providing information and scientific support to the FDA Evaluating health and safety issues and identifying risk factors involving chemicals, pollutants, pesticides, biotechnology products, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and herbal and natural remedies and products. |
